- Bio
- I'm curently a student at Sierra College Rocklin with a major in Biology/Ecology with plans to transfer to UC Davis. I am the president of Sierra College's ECOS Club (Environmentally Concerned Ogranization of Students) and a member of the Sience Club. I hold an AS in Computer Science and a certificate for Wildlife Law Enforcement.
I live in Fairfield Ca. where I spend my free time learning as much as I can about ecology, systems-based thinking, education of children, and how to facilitate others in their quest for real happiness. I spent 3/4 of my 31 years in typical American consumption mode with race cars, big houses, and fancy "stuff". I've since come to realize the uselessness of all that and how it can really interfere with being truely happy in life and that there are so many other worthwhile goals to achieve than just being rich and having "stuff" while depleting resources and poisoning our planet with our greed.
The Sierra Nevada is a very unique and integral part of our lives in California. One which I feel a special connection with and helps to recharge my internal battery when the rigors of city life has left me feeling drained. From Chamise in the western foothills to the glacial deposits on the eastern slopes, the Sierra Nevada continues to shape our lives as it has for generations throughout millenia. It is our duty to as borrowers of this landscape to leave it as unchanged by anthropogenic effects as possible and restore those areas we have changed.
